Roseville stores?

Going to be in the roseville area on Saturday. I am limited on where I can go due to family being with me, so far the schedule is Denios flea market, galleria mall, and Your Reef...

Any other close by stores I can add to the end of this? , and does anyone know Your Reefs hours? I never got an e-mail back from them.

Thanks guys!

That is great! thank you Auntbeez. I thought they were open until 7 or 8 on saturday, now I am sure! now I can plan my trip a bit easier.

If your gonna go to the gallaria you may as well shoot over to Aqualife in Rocklin on Pacific/taylor. Maybe 10 min away at the most. Then hit yourreef on your way back out. Just do your shopping first, cuz your gonna buy something wet I just know it ;)

I always do...you know you have to spend atleat a hundred bucks to make the trip worth while right?

Well thanks, I will look it up and see if I can map it, you said to go there from the mall? Thanks!

If I were to attempt this I would start with denios as it can get hot fast and the best deals go early so..Then to the Galleria to cool off. Rocklin is on the otherside of hwy 65 from the galleria, so then Id cross over go through town to Aqualife, get some colonies for 50 and under, then polish the trip off with yourreef for those harder to get frags and also ez access back to the freeway to head back home with all the loot! :D

Cool, just talked to my wife and I guess we hit denios, then I take her to the mall, figure that will be afternoon, get some lunch there, then I will leave them to shop while I hit aqualife, then coral reef shop, and then your reef, then I will go back to the mall by 6ish and pick up the wife and head home shortly after that.
I will have my ice chest with ice packs in it for the corals I buy, so should be all good, I got frags to the bay area, shopped, and brought some back with probablly a 99% survival. So should be good.

I should have a couple hundred bucks to spend between my credit cards with out getting in trouble, so should be able to get a couple nice things, wish I had planned this trip sooner I would have saved up more. Oh well, for a spur of the moment trip it should be all good.

Do go but don't blow too much time at Denio's. Cheap, but for a reason. Worth a stop just for pricing, though. IMHO -- The last time we were there the Rocklin store was big but had way too much dead stuff, bubble algae, and ick. If you're tight for time and limited in your travel radius... Count on your time being best spent at YRS and CRS.

One guys' opinion...

ps - Denio's is a huge flea market too... It will cost a buck or two to park. Entry is free if you pay to park in an official Denio's lot or $0.50 (I think?) if you park in a private lot. Be ready to hustle through the crowd. The fish place is close to the food court. $10 cleaner shrimp.

To the Rocklin store's credit: They did have some off-beat stuff but I'd only buy there if you're serious about quarantine.

Been to Denios a few times, and I am pretty much going to leave there with a sun burn...it's a given.
I think I am going there mostly for the farmers market, and the flea market...most of the other stuff is commercial garbage.

But thanks a lot for the advice everyone, and thanks for tips on the stores, that way if I have to cut one out I know which one.

If you had to pick only two shops - Coral Reef Shop and YourReef. I haven't been to Aqualife in a long time, so I can't comment too much about them.

This isnt the same Matt that use to rave on Aqualife when he worked there is it?

Regardless, Aqualife is worth a look. A major crediting factor is the fact that they get transhipments. Thats like a pot of gold waiting to be discovered. Every other LFS from here to the bay has to have stuff either set aside for them if there on good terms with the wholeseller, or get up way to damn early to go cherry picken.

So, amongst the bread and butter corals your sure to find a gem. For example I found a superman danae, that I bought for $10 that was a inch and a half that would normally go for 60+. Where else can you buy an acanthastrea lord colony for under $50? Every LFS has there ups and downs, and what fish store has never had ich?

Another thing to consider, is, if they are as consistantly bad as you say, how have they been in business for so long? 6 years that I personally know of. There is something that could be said negatively about every LFS under the sun, its about being aware of there deficiencies and capitolizing on their strong points as every LFS here in the area has both.

And no, I dont work for the store in Rocklin nor am I good friends with any staff or owners there.
/me steps off soapbox to asess damage control....

I am not commenting on any store mentioned in this thread, but rather your comment about them being the only one transhipping from Sac to the BA. Have you ever waited at SFO cargo, OAK cargo, or even SJC cargo and seen how many retailers are waiting, or have delivery trucks waiting for them? I'd say about ~1/2 of stores transship in one form or another (fw/sw). Every good store in the BA does, that's for sure.

Ya, I didnt phrase that right. Bay area folks are a whole different breed that Im completely ignorant too, I meant up to the bay, meaning this area Gresham. Symantics and topic killers aside, most stores in this area do not tranship, they shop.
