Rotifer Feeding Protocol

After you dose your Rotifers, how long do do wait until you give them to your clownfish larvae? I am feeding my rotifers Rotigrow Plus from Reed Mariculture.

I could be wrong because I am still learning myself but ideally your water should be tented green 24/7 using a vary slow drip. Now with that being said that is not possible in most homes because we are doing it at such a low volume. So the next best thing is to dose vary little a few time a day so that your water always has a slight tent.

With all that being said I wouldn't think it matters when you feed the noticed to the clowns since ideally there should be a constant supply of green water.

If I am wrong someone please correct me.

Well I stopped using the Rotigrow plus and now using RG Complete. Since it has every thing in it that you need such as the buffer and cloram-x no more mixing. I feed my rotifers about 2-3ml in the morning and again at night. Also I do the feeding about 30 minutes before feeding the rotifers to the fry. Having better success than I had in the past.

I forgot to mention I add about 1-2ml of the RGComplete to the fry's water at feeding time.

Thanks for the input guys. Just wondered what others were doing. I feed my rots 1 hr before I feed the babies. I didn't know of that was enough time for the rots to "soak up" the phyto.

The rotifers that I collect in the morning will soak in RGC + selcon & vitamins & it will be the afternoon food & the rotifers I collect at night is for am food.

Sounds like an interesting technique. So do you collect the rots and then pit them in a different kind of container? If you have time can you explain your process step by step? Thank you.

Me too.. Also what brand and type of vitamins are being put in there as well.

Brightwell vitamin c & multi vitamin. I keep them in a large collection cup & aerate them.
