I had been keeping a rot culture for sometime (meaning when i had rots i had no eggs from my clowns ) now of coarse i have eggs lol. I havent kept up with my rots cause i thought it wasnt going to happen so the 5 gallon bucket has been sitting with just the air stone running. The water has raise salinity due to evaporation. It was 1.034. Is it possible to start that culture again. I have dipped the old water out (left about 3 inches in the bucket) and put some new water in at a 1.015 salinity and added some phyto. Can this culture be restarted?

Yeah, it should restart with no problem. I have restarted neglected cultures a few times from the cysts at the bottom. Just aerate/feed and it will take about a week to have a good strong culture going again.

I guess I should have mentioned to drain off all the water and just leave the sludge in the bottom. Fill with new salt water and aerate and they will hatch within a couple days.

You should be able to restart it. Just keep the water tinted green with phyto. It may take a while, but they will come back.
