Royal Gramma vs Bristle Worm

I was at LFS and saw a very nice, nice color and healthy, Royal Gramma that I was going to purchase. Well the fish went into the overflow through a crack, no big deal. The tank has a few pieces of LR and has a bunch of Bristle Worms. When the fish was bagged it must have run into some of the worms and had a bunch of bristles sticking out of its lower lip. I did not purchase the fish because I did not know how they would affect the fish.

1. how would the bristles affect the fish?
2. how long should I wait to see if LFS still has fish to try and purchase?

Royal grammas are easy to come by. So no harm in passing. If it looks and acts ok in a week, you're probably fine. Fwiw I years ago I had a tusk wrasse who used to regularly eat bristle worms. When he'd take on a big one he'd often end up with bristles sticking out around the edges of his mouth. This happened many times and he never showed any ill effects.
