allright all Im having some problems with my rpes it was a small frag and the polyps never got any bigger and wouldnt open completely but it doubled its number of polyps but they continure to stay small.and i have noticed that the original polyps have even shrunken a little so i fragged them to see if that woudl help and as of now all of them are opening well and happy but i was wondering why my polyps wont get bigger and the tenticles are short and stubby and i cnat get them to catch any mysis or brine so its a problem. should i move them up higher into the light as of now they are off to the side of the mh and about 30 inches under them. all my other polys are doing great expecially my rainbows and lunars which have trippled or more in number and all the new polyps got to full size of a dime ;) so shoudl i move then up about 10 inches? BTW i have had these polyps in my tank for atleast 2 months

Sounds like its happy to me. When big polyps are small and show short tenticles, that means its either getting good or more lighting then it needs. Try putting it in a shaded area or somewhere that has less lighting and see what happens.

oh they are getting good lighting they are on the sand bed to the side of a 250mh. i did put 1 frag in alittle more shade to see what happens. i was also thinking about putting another frag in about 20 inch under the mh more directly to see if it wants more light ;)

My RPEs were doing great. Then they got knocked over into the sand. They haven't opened in a week and looks like they are going to start melting:( It is the only 2 polyps I had. I moved them up and glued them again. I hope they pull through.

I wish you better luck than I had.

thanks MTB such a shame bro hope they pull through too ya mine are on the sand too by the way and everyonce and a while they egt moved or flippe dover and i think that is botheirng them alot

I have my RPE's about 1/3 of the way up, and with moderate flow.
Here's a pic:

Polyps are as big as a quarter, and reproducing like crazy.
The one on the right was a three polyp frag a week and a half ago. It is now 5 adults and 3 babies.
