I have a simple question. Why? Is it worth the extra $100 bucks to get the same model skimmer i.e. NW-110 and the like as the recirculating model? I mean doesn't it stand to reason that those skimmers should also be good since it is made by the same company?
I'm asking because I'm setting up another reef. 50gal with 10gal sump. Mix of LPS, Softies and few SPS. Getting rid of my halides and got T5's to avoid using my chiller in SoCal heat But that's for another thread.
Back to the skimmer. I'm going to sell what I have laying around, in this case a Remora with a maxi-1200 to try to make up for the funds. Does anyone here have a life experience between the non recircs and the recircs? Preferably of the same model. I'm assuming the pacific coast stuff is better than the Coralife? Anyhow I've read through tons of threads here and feel I got more confused.
A little help would be much appreciated.
