RS232 converter problem

I bought a Dynex RS232 to USB converter at Best Buy $36.99 yesterday and used the driver that was posted in the RS232 to USB thread. I used the wizard to set it up and it gave the converter a port #...COM #13. I changed the connection on the profilux to 13 and it still will not connect. Can someone help me out here.Should I just go a buy one from RadioShack? Or I'm I missing something here?

I have even used the search for com ports on the profilux software and it can't find any....this suck...
xenon just saw your tank discription, I have the same thing except for the lights.... I only have 1 tunze in mine right now. How is it with 2 in there....what settings do you have them on? Do you have a build thread to see your tank? thanks for the help

Well I got it to work...finaly... I went into the Divice manager and into port info and changed my port # on my computer to 1 and it finaly connected. For some reason when my computer gave the port # on it's own it wouldn't work on any other than1....sorry for the typos..

I alternate my powerheads every hour to get more random flow so that the corals dont grow in one direction. It also prevents dead spots. Having them both on at the same time is a little too mcuh.

Here is my build thread: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=1478252
