help plz everyone ,

I am in need of help with a question that I have... I noticed one of my colonies looking like its RTNing out in the bottom but the topside is very healthy all the color is there and the polyps are fully extended and growing. is it a lighting issue with the coral or is something effecting it that im not aware of. I am bug free and the perams for my tank is 0's across the board with cal. at 460 (which is a bit high for me ), salinity at 1.025 a temp of 78 and im at 2.80 on my alk. any suggestion next to water changing which i have been agressively doing would be great help !

thanks everyone!!!

probably flow problem. The bigger they get the more flow they need. But once they start to rtn you are done... My yellow mille table just rtn'd on me in 3 days..

It grew into my flow of my seio... Thing was huge, so I moved the flow for flesh was getting ripped off... so the whole thing rtn'd on me.. Luckily I have about 5 frags.

Still sucks though.

Welcome to sps.

ya i hate to admit it to myself but we will have to see ... its got good flow to it , not to strong but enough for the polyps to go back and forth... basically 2 seio 1500's are on it...but other then that my ph is 8.1-8.2

Derek's RTN/stn cure*
I posted this a while back:
Take a power head and blow off all the dying tissue (it seems wrong but if you got a gangrene arm are you gonna let it kill you or are you gonna chop it off?) move the piece(s) to an area of better flow and spot feed the $#!+ out of it/them twice daily for up to two weeks. Within a few day the tissue will most likely grow back or else treatment was too late

*Disclaimer* it works for me don't blame me if it doesn't work for you. you use this treatment at your own risk!

thanks I will try that ! anything is better then nothing and I wouldnt ever hold someone else in contempt for my tank... but THANK YOU so much everyone! I will let you know how things work out here in a few days...
