Rtn question

If a colony rtns because of a param change would it heal its self ? Had a ph problem and started to rtn. Just fixed the ph. Should I just break it apart? Its large tabling acro.

In my experience RTN has a tenancy to spread. I personally would cut off dead tissue but the IMO. Plus i don't like dead stuff in my tank.

In my experience it's case by case. If it's losing tissue daily or you notice it receeding quicker then yeah chop and pray. If I see tissue flapping in the current I usually will chop it. But say there is just some recession at the base I will monitor it closely

If it is stable and holding and not to far gone I leave them alone usually they will resume growth in that situation.

Are you sure it was a pH issue? What did you do to correct it? .

Thanks for the input. Some how I did a water change by mixing my own salt and I dont know how my khd dropped. When I noticed one of my acros just melted. I mean in like 2 hours I think. So I paniced and added buffer but too much and my ph rocket for a day. I mad a big no no but thank god only two colonies got hurt. Rest are just fine. I decided to chop the coral and dip the left over. Sad day . hopefully that peice will stop and come back. It was so big...
