rtn

Cut the dead part away and pich it. Sometimes when a coral gets RTN it can spread throughout the whole tank and wipe out all your acros. It happened to my prop system a few years back and I lost about 150 small colonys.

Yep, frag the colony so that you have a few healthy frags that hopefully can rejuvenate. And if you have a quarantine you may want to put them in there until you know they're doing well. Just like buy baff rtn took out 5 of my colonies in a 30 gallon. Not as many, but still didn't make me happy.

Unfortunately I have had this happen on a few of my large colonies due to low ALK. I just raised the ALK and left them alone. The RTN started at the base and went up about 3 inches and stopped. That was over a year ago and now they have all recovered and you can’t even tell it happened. Maybe I just got lucky?
