I have a muricultured mini colony that has not been doing well since day 1. The tissue is falling off on all sides showing the Skelton. I see no pests All my other acros are fine.

Calcium 400
Alk 170ppm or 9.49 DKH
Temp 77.5-79
Salinity 1.025 hydrometer
Magnesium 1350ppm
PAR at location is about 180-220 not sure of exact.

Here's the questions;
Why is it dieing?
Another dip of iodine or revive?
Could whatever this is the contagious?
Anybody else had similar issues with mariculture corals?

It is dieing due to excessive stress.
Another dip probably wont help. If you dipped allready , might have contributed to problem.
Might be contagious but probably not
Many people loose new corals no matter what the source. Many Maricultured corals due just fine.

Thanks dave. I was kind of afraid of that. There is never a magical cure but seems like I look for it every time.

Most rtn I have had has been because of something I did or didn't do.

All swing is the biggest culprit, do u have an auto doser or do u manually dose? Water changes can cause rtn if your have a salt mix which has different parameters to what the dt has. To much direct flow on a colony. Stress from change of light or moving the colony etc
You need to think back to what u changed a week or two weeks prior to the events.

Not trying to lecture, just giving u some ideas

Good ideas

I use doseing pump, did my 10-12 gallon two week water change (the mag is a little lower on my salt mix), The lights have changed ALOT for this colony. They went from sun, to T5, to LED. I have tried to leave it in a Lower PAR area away from my 2 hot spots.

I'd be willing to give it to anyone that thinks they can save it.
