Is RTN when the sps's skin begins to peel away from the skeleton? If so, what can I do to stop it? I just did a 24 gallon water change to my 60, and will probably do an extra 12 tomorrow. Is this the best approach? What else would you recommend, and what causes RTN?

Thanks guys!

Mike

RTN is an acronym for Rapid Tissue Necrosis. What defines RTN, I'm not sure. Would you care to tell us your water parameters, water flow, lighting, and what SPS it is?

RTN is when you start to see the SPS loosing tissue, then within a few hrs its all gone. The entire peice is then dead and white. It totaly sucks.

I only have 2 test kits which test for alk, and calcium. Alk is low at 7.0, and Calcium is high at 480. Like I said earlier, I just did a 24 gallon water change with rodi and kent marine synthetic sea salt. My lighting is a 400mh xm 20k, with mj1200's for flow, and eheim 1260 (i think) for my return. I also have a 20 gallon fuge, and 1/4hp chiller.
