Rubber Underlayment in fish room

I'm planning to add rubber underlayment on the tile floor in my fish room (closet) to help with any kind if water leakage, the weight if the tank and stand (210gal) on the floor, and sound. Mostly it's for the water.

Can you tell me how thick i should go. I can go as thin as 2mm to 1/2 inch, but there is a HUGE price difference.

I bought an ATV garage pad from HD. It is 4' x 8' x 3/8". It sits under my 46 bow setup. Easy to wipe up any drips/spills. Was only around $80. Also can be cut with a utility knife.
