I've got 2 places within 5 miles of my house that carries stock tanks! Both are Agway (farm supply stores)
First one is Clinton NJ on Main St. the other is on rt. 57 in Washington NJ if your going to any of the meetings let me know i can pick you up one. I will have to see what size they have in stock, the ones i bought are 100 gallon i'm sure they can order them if they don't carry 75's let me know!
great idea with the bubble towers! does it effectively strip out all the bubbles?
do you put any special connections on the bulkheads in the tank? i'm asking because i want to plan for the situation where the main tank's drains clog for whatever reason. if they do clog, i don't want 70+ gallons overflowing the main tank. maybe a standpipe?
those bubble towers work great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! zero bubbles and they also work great for silencing the gurgle in the overflow boxes! i'm not sure what you mean by bulkheads, the bulkheads in my overflow boxes are just the standard kit that comes from AGA ( standpipe and bulkheads ) as far as the bulkheads in the stock tank they are also conventional bulks that i bought from marine depot. the only problem that i had was getting a tight seal on the stock tank bulks they leaked no matter how tight i made them. i think it was mostly due to the fact that the stock tank really does'nt have any flat surfaces. i just gooped them up with some silicone and they seem to be holding fine. the one thing i would recomend is get schedule 80 bulkheads for the stock tank, this way you can make them really tight and also scuff up the inside of the stock tank where ever your silicone is going to come in contact. this will help the silicone get a better grip!!! the stock tank plastic is very smooth. let me know if you have any other questions
