Rules regarding setting up club buys

I'm interested in seeing if members are up for a club buy to Bulk Reef Supply but want to know what the rules/regs for doing so are before I move forward. Info officers?

Darn James! On the bright side, they offer their bulk discount on the group buys but say somethings are priced as low as possible in the first place. Rock my be one of those things.

Basically, a group buy organized by a club member is fine to do. One organized by a club officer is a different deal, because that makes a group buy "official" and has other ramifications. That doesn't mean there can't be "official" club buys, but we need to be more careful about those.

That’s the beauty of this order. The way it works is if we get at least 10 club members who want to buy at least one item we each get to purchase the item at the bulk rate and they ship to each individual rather than a single big shipment. So there is minimal coordination.

supertech99 I think the benifit of that reactor is you can change the carbon without messing wiht the gfo media.

Supertech, gfo pulls the phosphate introduced by food, leaching from LR, and/or leaching from carbon. I'm a fan. GFO stands for granulated ferric oxide, it is a red crystalline substance, and it is substantially better than the aluminum-based phosphate binders sold in the hobby (the white pellets). It is used in the water treatment industry in arsenic adsorption applications. GFO to keep phosphate at absolute 0 levels (far below detection on a test kit), along with Mg management is very effective for hair algae control.

FYI, I have been working independently on obtaining gfo and carbon direct from mfg's / industrial suppliers. I'm getting close. Qty is larger than that sold by bulkreef, but price is better. I should know something in a week or so. The cracks I was making in my RT group buy were real- the kalk supplier I started with wanted to sell me a rail car worth. Had to pass on that one .
