Running a DC8 with an extention cord

What I am trying to do is use a socket in another room to split up my pumps and lights. Would it be ok to hook the DC8 up to a socket in another room if I used a heavy duty extention cord? The cord would only need to be about 10 feet or so.

I don't recommend using a extension cord w/ the DC8. A fully loaded DC8 can draw 15 Amps, and even using a heavy duty extension cord results in voltage drops, increases the probabilty of a cut cord, fire hazards, etc.
