Running only one pump on a TS24

Hi, i have the opportunity to buy a TS24 kit for a relatively cheap price. Now, i feel the bargain comming on but i only have a 3x2x2 softie/lps tank and i think both pumps in this tank would be overkill (even if they are dialed down to their lowest setting). If i do end up buying the kit, can i use just one pump (and store the other until a tank upgrade) or will the controller not allow me to do that.
