Rust Issues

Hello,

I have a 300 gallon display that has a canopy on it with some holes cut out in the top. The display is in my living room. I have that plumbed through the wall to sump which adds an additional 100ish gallons. The sump is partially covered (return section). The refug. is not covered and there is quite a bit of salt creep in that area.

Anyways, the fish room is in a fairly big area (about 500 sq ft). It's about 6-8 ft away from the furnace and I have a workbench with tools about 10-13 feet away. I have not noticed any problems with the furnace... but some of the cheaper tools that are sitting on the bench are rusting on the side exposed upwards. I'm assuming this is do to humidity issues with salt "vapor".

I am running a dehumidifier in the room... but I had it set around 50-55%. I changed that down to 45 last night. Is there any tips or suggestions on how to make sure I don't have this problem going forward? I am making part of that room a workout room and will have a lot of money in equipment. In the living room I have thousands in stereo and TV and don't want the internal parts of that to rust either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,

-zach
