I am part of a thread where Eric from fragfarmers Vortech was all rusted on the inside of the wetside. Why did this happen ? What is the procedure if this does happen ? Is it warrentied against this happing ? If its for saltwater tanks should not be made with materials that do this I would think

Without actually seeing the specific wetside there is no way to answer why this occurred. If it does by chance happen, then send a service request to ecotechmarineservice@gmail.com. The magnets have a special coating to prevent this from happening.
As for warranty, the pump has a 1 year warranty from purchase date and all parts purchased carry a 1 year warranty.

If some of those thin lines are small scratches from a screwdriver, that would easily explain it. I have seen a few where users tried to use a screwdriver to tighten things down, and in the process scratched the magnet. If that happens, the protective coating is damaged and this can then happen. It is a very likely possibility.
