RxP Works for Ich

I just wanted to go on record with my success with RxP. About 2 months ago my Cowfish got ich from an introduced fish (i know I should have QTed) and it was pretty bad. Spots on the body and fins. Even my wrasse had a couple. Anyway, I began using RxP but after a week I got worried because it looked like my cowfish was getting very pale. It looked like it was just extra slime coat, but I didn't want to take any chances (keep in mind, by this point all of the ich spots were gone). I did a large water change and within a day the cowfish was back to normal color, but was covered in ich again. I tried the garlic method for a week, with no results, then decided to try RxP again. After all, it seemed like it was working (plus, I had had it work previously on a firefish).

This time I used it at half dose and went the full 2 weeks. After about the same amount of time the cowfish began to get the extra slime coat but i kept treating (it was still eating and acting normal) and I have been ich free for about a month now.

To make such a claim is funny. You just got lucky or the crypt has fallen off and is reproducing waiting for the next fish you add to the tank. I wish you the best of luck but in my expirience no reef safe treatments work.

I would agree if I did not witness the ich spots coming and going with no sign of improvement or lessening of spots before the first treatment then during the garlic treatment. However, during the RxP treatments all of the crypts were removed.
