So, I have never done a build thread before but thought I would give it a go this time around. I have had many reef tanks in the past, a 55, 72 and a 75 gallon reef, but nothing as big as the one I am setting up now. If you see anything out of the ordinary please let me know.

Here is my equipment list as of now:

- 265 Oceanic room divider aquarium

- OM-4way with a Sequence Dart - 6 - 1" feeds to the aquarium and 2 - 2" returns to the Dart.

- 2 - 1" SeaSwirls to be used on both ends of the aquarium

- ASM G-4X with gate valve mod and recirc modifications (to be completed)

- 3 - LumenMax Elite Reflectors with 250w ballasts

- 110 gallon aquarium modified to be used as a sump

- Around 120 pounds of figi liverock

Things I still need to purchase:

- Around 150 pounds of mixed liverock

- 200 pounds of some sort of substrate

- T5 supplemental lighting for dawn to dusk effect

Here are a couple pictures of what the rooms looked like before and where I am today.

I am in the process of plumbing the aquarium and will have a couple pictures posted of that later tomorrow. I know I don't have much right now but please let me know what you think.

Yes. All the equipment besides the Dart for the CL will be located in the basement. I will take some pictures of that area as well tomorrow to show you where it will be.

I plan on doing something very similar, but people keep making me paranoid by saying the floor can't handle all that weight? any truth to that? are you concerned at all about weight?

One of the main reasons i chose the location is because directly under the tank is a iron I-beam which will hold the weight. I am going to add an extra column and supports just to make sure I do not have any issues.

Great job. I'm planning in doing the exact same as yourself with a 300g tank, I have a doubt about condensation/evaporation in the void causing damp to the house. How do you overcome this.

Think you might be hearing a lot from me when I eventually get started. Just going through the idea process just now.

I considered the condensation issue as well. I installed an exhaust fan (bathroom fan) hooked up to a dehumidistat switch which will turn the fan on when the humidity reaches a certain level. The fan is vented to the outside of the house. I will take a picture of that to show you what I did later today.

I love that the whole family is involved in this build. I will tag along to see how it develops.

My kids loved the aquariums I had in the house before. When I took them down they were very upset, so they were more then eager and happy to assist in this build.

Very nice build ... please explain how you going to take care of avaporation inside your wals.
