I am depating between a euro braced tank and a rimless tank right now. I really like a rimless tank (the Janpanese style aquariums) but I have a couple questions.

1. What about fish jumping out? I lost a couple fish from this with my old tank that had euro bracing, but in a rimless tank I think you would lose a lot of fish or be very limited what fish you could get.

2. This may be a stupid question but what about the dust that settles on furniture. I remember wiping off the hood of my old tank and I wouldn't want all that in the water even if it is filtered.

3. To go rimless you have to go from 1/2" to 3/4", does that make much difference in clarity? Clarity seems a top priority for me (I'm paying the extra for Starphire) and I would hate to lose any clarity in the class.

I debated on this same question for a long time. I wanted to go rimless very badly. However, my tank is going to be an in-wall installation, so there was very little benefit to going rimless for me.

If you are planning on having the tank itself as a show piece in a room, without covering up the edges, then rimless is great. If you are covering up the edges, even a little bit, like I did, then I would save the money and effort and go with the Eurobracing.

My tank is braced heavily and I still lose fish to jumping. It is merely the nature of the beast. They have always been wrasses in my expereinces.

That is absolutely not a problem. Just be careful of harmful chemical cleaners near the tank.

There would be minimal difference in clarity due to the difference since it will be starfire.
