S. haddoni substrate

Just wondering whether the type of substrate matters for S. haddoni anemones: fine sand (i.e. Southdown), coral rubble, or somewhere inbetween? Would be particularly interested in comments from folks that have kept S. haddoni's successfully long-term as to what type of substrate they have.

Would also be interested in opinions as to whether it is important to have a solid surface under the sand for the anemone to hold onto?

Mine is inbetween Southdown and rubble, closer to Southdown. I've had my yellow/tan one in that tank for over 6 years now (same substrate)
The only soild surface that is under the sand is the glass bottom on my tank. Both of my haddonis have their foot attached to the glass (can see it if I look under the stand) right were the rocks met the sandbed.

Mine is in a mixed substrate. It has only moved once. Thats because I moved him into a larger tank. Ive had it for about 2 years. Mine also is attached to the glass.
