I have a 220watt odyssey compact light. It has 3 switches, 1 is white 1 is blue & 1 is a moon light. do i need the white & bluelite on at the same time? When I turn the bluelight on i here a fan come on. and here lately its sounding slow, like the fan may be going out, i dont want 2 run it if the fans burning out& wont cool the lights, any thoughts on what i should do?

Most run the actinic (blue) lights longer than the daylight bulbs which gives the tank a dawn and dusk effect.
Have the daylight bulb(s) come on about an hour after the actinic and go off at least an hour before the actinic.

If the fan does burn out you can purchase another relatively cheap from Radio Shack.

I havent had it very long when i bought the tank it came with it it had a timer but he said he didnt no how 2 hook it up. so i just turn them on about 2:00 & turn them off at 10:00. but i do have the timer just not 4 sure how 2 work it.
