Do the clownfish from SA take in anemones like ORA clowns? Anyone with first hand experience, please reply :)

Mine went right to my anemones. I have a pair of SA Fancy Whites hosted by a Mag, and a couple GSMs hosted by a RBTA.

The source of the clownfish will not matter, clownfish are gentically encoded with the associating to anemone.

They may take sometime to associate with a BTA if that is the pairing you are going for (assuming you are talking about A. Ocellaris or A. Percula), but that is simply because they are not gentically encoded to associate with that anemone in the wild.

Buy the clowns you like, match them with the appropriate anemone, and they will associate, almost guaranteed, and almost right away.

I just picked up some SA Premium Fancy Snows.. Hope the work out..

BTW, ct_vol, any more tries with the haddoni or gigas?

As they used to say in my long-gone youth, word. :p

(I'd just add that my vote goes to BTAs no matter the clownfish species, because they're available aquacultured and I think easing collection pressures on wild clownfish hosts is crucial.)

So far the new clowns havent touched the haddoni.. They are still in the "dumb" mode, swimming up and down the glass though... lol
