Sad

Yeah, that is sad. When my wife and I went to Sea World to do the "trainer for a day" program, they warned us that could potentially happen and would not allow us near the orcas. They have been know to take a person under their pectoral fin and swim with them under water thinking that you are their baby. Some people have drowned that way.

Calculated risk.

I feel bad for the family, but I also feel bad for the whale. It's taken out of it's natural environment, stuck in a small (relatively speaking) tank, and expected to be in a good mood 24/7. Animals have bad days too. Maybe it didn't have its cup of coffee today. It's a 7,000 pound animal against a 100 pound woman, it may have even been playing.
