Saddle Valentini puffer and Mandarin Goby

I will be getting a saddle valentini puffer and mandarin goby in about a week. I want to QT them so I don't get ich in my tank. It is my understanding that both of these fish are very sensitive to copper so what is the best way to ensure they are ich free? Is there another medicine to use for them?

I am also getting 2 clowns, a cleaner wrasse, and diamond goby. Are any of these 3 types sensitive to copper as well?

The clowns, wrasse and goby can all be run thru copper. But I would suggest tank transfer (sticky here) for the puffer & mandarin. You will also probably need to pickup some Nutramar Ova to feed the mandy while he is in QT. I hope your DT is loaded with pods.

Yeah my DT is absolutely loaded with pods. Would it be a better idea to just do tank transfer for all the fish? Or is it better to put the fish that can be put through copper through copper?

If you can manage it, it would be best to just run all the fish thru TT. The key is using large enough tanks to manage aggression; you can control the ammonia just by using Prime or Amquel. What kind of clowns are you getting? Those would be the ones I'd be most concerned about aggression-wise.

Okay I figured the 20 would work. Could I potentially use the 20 as the main tank transfer them to the 5 for about an hour, during that hour clean the 20 gallon and freshen it up and then transfer them back?

Also would it be okay to give the fish that are okay with copper a bath in copper water for a few minutes or would that do nothing? Also is it recommended to do a freshwater dip to see if they are carrying flukes? And if so what is the best way to do a freshwater dip?

Kinda risky, as there is a chance the parasite could survive the cleaning process. Part of my "sterilization" process is letting everything air dry for 3 days. If you go this route, I highly suggest using bleach and rinsing thoroughly afterwards.

You might also want to pose this ? to the tank transfer thread for additional input.
