They are beautiful fish and I am going to get some myself. First off be carefull buying wild ones because they are really dellicate shippers and they are especially prone to get things like ich and brooklyna. I would definately quarantine them or buy tank raised ones.
I heard they were also more difficult to pair up, breed and raise than other types of clowns. But that is just what I heard. I have only bred and raised percula clowns so I have no frame of refference for breeding Saddles.
I had a pair of wild caught Black Saddle Back Clowns....great personality....I love em....one disappeared...thing my anemone ate it honestly....but I love em....the black ones are a bit harder to find, but they are great fish...
I had a pair of wc saddles, they were pretty nasty to their tankmates once they started to mature, but loads of fun once I moved them into their own tank. They're full of personality, very interactive, bold fish. I lost my pair to brook; it was my first experience with brook and by the time I knew what I was dealing with it was already too late. Broke my heart, I still miss them.
Yeah I usually went with tank-raised until my carpet ate all the tank-raised clowns. I got 2 Wild saddlebacks. Im very happy with them. They were a light yellow and have now gotten a darker brown. I am very happy with them.
