Safety Feature Lapse in Osmolator?

Lets say yous drain pipe becomes clogged and your sump runs dry. What mechanism does the Tunze Osmolator have to prevent it from emptying the entire contents of the freshwater reserve into the sump, resulting in a lower salinity level?

For example, the Oceanus Systems autotop off units have a built in timer that prevents this from happening. Thats just an example but there are other ATOs that have some way to prevent the ATO from adding to much freshwater or Calcium hydroxide.

We have a ten minute timer and the pump has a fairly low flow rate, in ten minutes it could pump maybe 2.5 gallons.

I was looking at Tunze website and my interpretation is that the pump will shut off automatically if its not pumping water for 10 minutes. Or does it automatically shut off in 10 minutes no matter what the conditions are?

What I am trying to say is if your water container is 20 gallons. Will it keep pumping all 20 gallons and then run for 10 more minutes and then turn off?

Or will it only pump for 10 minutes and then stop even if there is water in the storage container?
