Safety harness not working

I have a power outage about to happen in 10 hours, due to house wires needing to be replaced. perfect time to hook up my battery harness, right?

nope, it's not working when I tested it. I assume it must be the fuse but I dont have any individual fuses to replace it with, anyone know a device I might have that will have one I can use? I need this item working.

This is the first time using this device. I am not even getting the main power to work with the pump, which is why i assume the fuse is bad. I cannot seem to find a compatible one anywhere in any of my devices.

Radio Shack would have the fuse.

I ordered 15 (3x5) of them from Amazon. It's a shame I didnt have time to get to any stores between the outage and finding out I needed more fuses. I will hopefully have no further issues with this item once I get them. Surprising though that the fuse the unit came with was bad from the start though.

Sorry, I did not get that part initially. Did you remove the fuse and does it have a burned filament inside? It should not have been bad brand new, but a mistake on the first connection could burn the fuse.

Never dealt with fuses before. The filament inside looked fine but I dont know what it is supposed to look like. it was a bit sideways though, but didnt move as I turned it.

First time I connected it was battery to harness. I then plugged in the power adapter from the pump, then I plugged the harness into the pumps input.

The fuse never popped out during that time, not sure what caused the problem.

The fuse won't pop out, the filament inside would burn. It does run diagonally through the glass tube. It sounds like the fuse is fine and their is a connection issue. If you just plug the power supply into the safety connector and the safety connector into the pump, it should run. I would try wiggling the connections to make sure one is not loose, i.e. the pump kicks on when you move the plug at the pump or safety connector, that would point to a loose connector and I can walk you through adjusting that.

I shall give that a try tonight. Is there some more immediate means of communications for a walk through? I want to have this fixed as not that I have gotten my tank prepped for today, I wanna make sure it's ready in the future without any headaches. and I have 2 12v 8ah SLA batteries. I think one might be bad/dying but figured if I combine both then even if it isnt as effective its a little added headroom if it all fits in my battery box when all is said and done.

Phone, but we close at 5:30 Central- 512-833-7546

If the connection is loose on the female receptacle ends their is a pin in the middle, that pin has a split, with a small screwdriver you can spread this split to increase the tension on the connection, if one feels loose or pulls out easily this is the likely culprit.

I'll just take pictures tonight and try your recommendation. I did try wiggling it around last night. It could have used either source though, so i feel like it might be the output to the pump thats the issue. I know 100% that my connection is proper, as my charger i seeing the battery and it's leads are twisted together and going into the same connection with the wires connected straight to the battery

brand new fuse in place, separated the pins in the middle, still no luck. It seems nothing is working and this was a new unit. What's going on?

I popped off the front panel of the harness and looked at the connections. I do not know if this is enough to cause the problem, but I believe one of the solder points is not shiny, so it might be a bad solder point. I am not sure why this would effect both power inputs though as at least one of them should be fine. I have replaced the original fuse two or three times now with other fuses to confirm no change in working order.

I have split the pin in the middle on both the harness and the pumps inputs. It still is not working.

Here is the insides, I marked a tiny circle around the solder point I felt looked bad/poorly done.

Can you email a copy of your receipt and we will get it exchanged?

Without a continuity test it is hard to say, the safety connector board is hand soldered so they aren't as refined looking as a surface mount board.
