Just a reminder that no matter what size the tank please put it on a GFCI!
We had a little scare last night in the form of a small fire. My 90 and 22 are both on GFCI the third tank a 20 gallon was not. Apparently my protein skimmer decided to go into overdrive and pumped 3.5 gallons of water out onto the floor with enough force to cause substantial splashing into the surge protector that was about 4" off the floor. Short story is that the surge protector shorted and caused a small fire with the plastic housing. Luckily I woke up when I smelled the smoke and major disaster was avoided. A GFCI would have prevented this. Yes, I have purchased one for that tank and it will be installed in the morning.
