Sailfin Rescue Pt 2

I plan to adopt this tang as a rescue next week. He has been recovering from a neglected tank at my LFS for the last 6 months.
I like the folks there but want another opinion on his remaining issues.
He had tail rot and HLLE but seems recovered, even though scarred.
I did a closer examination today and his face and mouth are fairly pink.
Otherwise he is healthy looking and eating well.
Opinions on how to continue his treatment in my QT?

Nori and just observe til he's eating really good and not shy. If he stays shy then usually they have a parasite and need some kind of treatment. I love tangs with a little road rash adds character! Good luck

Thanks.
I went to 'visit' him yesterday and he came right up to me and let me stare at him from less than 2 inches for over 10 mins. He is eating well and swims vigorously.

He's a dejardini sailfin so he's even cooler! I have one just like him that I've had since he was a silver dollar size. They get big quick and eat like pigs. Gl

Yup. I had one when I was a newb, so he was quickly re-homed. I've waited 2 1/2 years to get a tank big enough for another one.
My wife spotted this guy last weekend in a backroom of one of our LFS. The odd thing is that I had just purchased a Desjardini from another store. He is in TTM now and doing well.
So now I will have two in the 350. Crossing fingers this works out. If not I figure I can re-home the other fish more easily than this guy

Update

Acquired him yesterday.
The HLLE scar will probably not fade, and he has pits on his head.
He is doing well in QT and eating Nori, mysis, flakes and bloodworms.
Looking forward to seeing him in the big tank in a month or so.

In my experience they are very hardy fish. When I had my 500 gallon I put a silver dollar size one in and he got as big as a dinner plate.

I need some help guys. Anyone have suggestions on what to research?
The tang is doing great in QT, but I have now noticed a red well-defined 'zit' at the end of his right front lateral line. It looks most like small red foramaniferian, like you see in live rock in new tanks.
Its about 1 mm high and 1 mm around and appears to have lashes or bristles on top.
Hope the pics can help. If not I will try to get better shots.

He swims all over the tank, eats like a pig and generally behaves 'healthy'. But if you look at the pic #6, the red 'zit' is clearly not there.
I guess I will just observe for a week. Maybe some others will chime in.
