just wondering what peoples thoughts are about catching a pinfish/ sailors choice and quarantining it and then putting it into a fowlr tank. they seem like a really cool fish to keep. Has anyone ever tried this or have any thoughts on this? The scientific name for this fish is Lagodon rhomboides if anyone was wondering what fish I am talking about. Its a common baitfish here in Florida. Thanks in advance

Never kept a pinfish, but they're porgies, and I used to keep juvenile porgies as a lad (before there were size restrictions). They're pretty tolerant, and the ones I had always adapted well, IIRC. Pinfish colors are pleasing, if not as bold as many reef fish - I'd say go for it if you want ... but I'm no expert!

i figured they would be because they last forever in a bucket while im fishing compared to anything else. i think ill go catch some this weekend and then make a thread of the whole process of quarantining and preparing them for my display :)

I've used many pinfish for bait LOL They are attractive and would be bullet proof that's for sure. Go for it. Just make sure you do some dips and quarantine it for sure.
