Salinity Probe Calibration

I have looked here and at aquarium computer.com and, for some reason, I have missed the thread with the salinity probe calibration instructions. I have the Fauna Marin bottle in my sump patiently waiting (grin). Could anyone point me to it. Many thanks.

You can't calibrate it on the PC. You have to calibrate it on the controller itself.
Go to
-Sensor settings
-Conductivity
-Calibration
-tolerance (1)
-calibration value(whatever standard you use
-Temp-sensor
-Enter the current aquarium temperature
-hold the probe in the air
-place the probe in the solution
-when done hit save

The important thread library has now had all the unstuck threads linked in, please ask us if you want any others adding as per the threads first post.

It was difficult getting the aquarium temperature and the solution temperature to the exact temperature. After calibration, the probe read 52.8. I think that is pretty close.

This is what I did for mine. Since I know my refractometer is pretty reliable and calibrated with RO/DI water, I use the tank water for the calibration solution.
Take a reading on the tank water with a refractometer. Convert to mS. punch in the tank temp for the solution temperature and viola! Perfect match. :) You don't have to get perfect on salinity/conductivity. Just as long as you don't drift too far from what you normally run the tank. Especially when you're doing 2-parts dosing.
