hi everybody
i forgot the r/o water open stright into the sump of my 700l reef tank for 24h - came back and all the corals, anemones' clams and fish look good but the xenia n star polyps - they where close...

salinity was on 1.012-14 (didnt check the P.H) , as i stressed out i raised the salinity asap to 1.024. just took some water out of the sump, put a lot of salt mixed it fast and put it back to the sump....

what should i expect now? would the xenia die? what about other inverbrates that was o.k before i raised back the salinity?
can it harm the corals, clams, anemones in the long run ?

what can i do now ?
what sould i do next time when it happens?

Don't let it happen. you shocked everything with the drop, but that was likely a very slow drop because of the output from the RO/DI being slow but you shocked things much worse when you rapidly raised it back up.

put the RO/DI line in a bucket and then top off, don't put it in the tank, one would think you'd of learned a lesson from this, but it doesn't seam that way.
