salinty & cycling rock

I have been cycling some new rock with some seeded rock out of my DT which has been left out in the shed with heater and powerhead.

I have not checked if for a while or topped off the water with RO and the salinity is off the scale, my questions are;

Will the high Salinty kill off the bacteria?

Can I dump some Ro and bring salinty down quickly to the correct SG with out any ill affects as there is no live stock in there?

Thanks

...and yes, very high salinity can kill bacteria. That's why salt is used as a preservative, it kills bacteria.
