Salt/calcium crystals in Venturi

Just curious if anyone has any ideas why this weird crystal like rock is building up in my bk mini venturi. Weird part is this started happening the past 2 months. Had skimmer for about 8-9 months and no issues before. I know when it's buliding up in Venturi because skimmer starts acting up n levels goes higher. Have not changed anything in regards of salt/dosing etc.
Any info would be appreciated.

Salt creep in Venturi lines of skimmers is completely normal. As you noted, when it starts building up, the level will raise in the skimmer leading to an eventual overflow if not caught in time cause the reduced air is displaced by additional water which raises the water level in the skimmer. I clean my skimmer pump every few months and when I clean the pump. I take a tooth pick and remove any salt creep from the line.

The reason for the salt creep in there is because the water rushing past the Venturi kind of percolates a bit where the rubber hose connects to the volutes plastic connection. The air rushing through dries the water leaving the salt crystals behind.
