Salt for corals...

I like coral pro its a great salt I use to use it all the time.
That said I have been out of work since February and to save a few bucks I have been using reef crystals and honestly I havnt seen a difference in anything.

i use red sea coral pro, never had a problem with it not dissolving. in fact it dissolves to be completely clear in less than 20 minutes for me whenever i mix it

Salt for corals...

Red Sea (not coral pro) I carbon dose and the alk is to high in most other salts and u get burnt tips

Having gone on the "Divers Den" tour today, and seeing what they have there in terms of corals, I'd say Reef Crystals is a pretty damn good choice.

I still love Tropic Marin, but have been using RC lately with good results.

It kinda depends on what you would like to keep your ALK level at. Both Reef Crystals and Coral Pro have a high ALK level and are normally used by those who don't normally dose or run bio-pellets/carbon dose.

If your looking at not dosing and keeping Softies and maybe some LPS then RC or CP should work fine. If you plan on having SPS, I would recommend staying away from a high alk salt.

I just started ESV a month ago as well. Great salt. Has taken a few batches to get the salt where I want it but so far so good.

I used Coral Pro for a year. Can't say I liked it. Before that I used Reef Crystals which was great and I would go back to it if I were keeping my ALK high.

My parameters with ESV are tweaked a bit to match the salinity and Mag I want for now. Will lower the mag once I get the tank where I want. But that's why I love ESV. Lowering the mag is easy.

Salinity = 1.0264/35ppt
Ca = 440
ALK = 8.9
MAG = 1480

I've used Reef Crystals for 10+ years and have been happy with it.
But recently I started using Kent Marine salt because it is a little cheaper.
