Salt in Chicago/Joliet/Naperville

Do any stores in Chicago, Joliet or Naperville sell either the buckets of Reef Crystals or Oceanic? - hopefully at a decent price.

check petsmart for reef crystals. its not my favorite place by far but the salt is reasonable.

you can try Rods reef in Dekalb he can get it for you if he doesnt have it in at the time

Every petsmart I have been to does match the price. The problem I have is that they NEVER seem to have instant ocean in buckets. They do tend to have reef crystals more frequently. I find it easier - with a 210 gallon tank - just order 4-5 buckets from Dr foster at once and be done with it.

The online price at petsmart is always cheaper than in the store, just bring in the print out from petsmart online and they honor that price too.

what I do not like is how Reef Crystals misleads people. Those buckets are now good for 160 gallons for 39.99 on sale normally 49.95. If memory serves me correct those buckets used to be good for 200 gallons so it is 20% less volume in the bucket.

I now use oceanic and love it it dissolves fast and has high calcium. Early batches may have had problems, but I have never had any. At premium aquatics they sell 200gallon buckets for $39.95
