Salt mixing issue

I have a 55g tank that I keep full of mixed saltwater all the time, it has a MJ-1200 with mod and a MJ-900 for water circulation and a heater.

I change 10-15g a week.

There seems to be some "gunk" building up in my mixing tank.

Am I premixing too much water? or am I doing something wrong?

What kind of gunk and what brand of salt?

Are you keeping a pump going? If not the gunk may be Calicum built-up.

Its like a film on the glass and on the top of the water, its Reef Crystals salt, yes the two Maxis run 24x7.

Randy from the chemistry forum, talked on this matter

it is just a carbonate, i believe it was mostly due to heating the water.

it is harmless
