salt problem

i have a bit of a problem here with my new salt, i just went out and purchased some Red Sea salt, got home and decided to do a water change on my 20 gallon. I do a 2 gallon water change but when i looked on the back of the container to see how much salt i am susposed to use for some odd reason they have the amount you are susposed to use in pounds!?! Now why on earth would they do that, i do not have a scale around my house to measure the correct amount so i do not knwo what to do. Then to make matters worse they only have the amount you are to use in 5 gallon segments. I relize there is simple math involved to find the amount i need for 2 gallons and that comes out to .56 pounds for 2 gallons but the problem is, as i have learned from past expirence, the amount you are to use is not always proportional. So i guess what i need is if anyone knows of a converstion chart for Red Sea salt or if anyone uses that salt and has already done the work. thanks for any help

I use about 2.5 cups per gallon and that gets me to about 1.025sg. I'd start with that amount and then test the specific gravity. Then, adjust as necessary.
