salt water

was gonna do. i'll try it today. i'm doing a water change right now and will dump the old water into part of my driveway and see what happens.

it does work as long as you wont let it get stagnant. the part of my driveway where i throw the water out was free of snow/ice. i think that as long as when you pour it and the water will just run through the drain it is okay.

umm just plain old water will melt the snow and ice because its at almost 80 degrees
if i take a bicket of warm tap water and dump it outside hell its gonna melt the snow

No offense but i think its just MORE the warmth of the water melting the snow and not the the actual salt content

But saltwater does freeze at a much lower temp. When was the last time you saw tghe ocean frozen :P

True true
also moving water has a tendency not to freeze u can take a bucket of water throw a few pumps in it and leave it outside and it wont freeze but if it sits still it will

Im just stating that i think its more the warm water melting it than the salt content

Salt melting ice is a cemical reaction making the water just have a lower freezing point changes it from 32 degrees to roughly 20 degree freezing point

i think if the salt is set at 1.085 or higher it will work to an extent hmmm just use melt away snow remover LoL

Way too much of a hassle. I was gonna try using my fish water from WC on my FW tanks as a fertillizer for my flowers outside but it became a PITA. Still use it for my inside plants & my orchids love it!

not necessarily true! Chemistry has taught us that hot water freezes at a faster rate than cold water. :D
