Saltwater Island

Anybody else been there? Is it worth the drive over from Illinois or should I wait and let things get set up a little more.

The door has that "by appointment" painted on there but just check if the door opens. He's probably had the lease a bit for build out and did the paintings early for pre advertising.

If I were all the way in Il. I'd probably wait to make it a single destination trip until the other part of the display tanks are up. Or a pizza night when it's more social type event anyway.

I called, he forgot to take the sign down. You could have walked in.
LOL that's my luck!!!

He said he had been waiting on some Ballwin permits for a few months. Gotta love STL county govamnt????????!!!??

I'll bet that spot next door will still be for lease in 6mths-year so if he gets enough business, expansion would be easy. That's the one thing about it. It's easier to be small and outgrow than to go under from starting TOO big. Been there done that.

I walked in yesterday, small and not much in the way of livestock yet. Said he was getting a shipment Tuesday.

Hopefully it will work out for him.

Well glad to here of another LSF, and I like the Idea of a pizza nite at the new place and don't see why it can't happen. Let's give him the best of luck and vist the new place like we do the other places. That a bit of a drive for me so I'll wait until the store is in full swing but I will stopping in. CONGRATS on another LSF!! :)

Was in there Saturday nice little place. Talked to Mark for a while and he is still setting up some and he has one system that is still cycling. He will be getting some sps he said soon if not Tuesday but I may be mistaken on that one. He did say he was getting a shipment Tuesday.

Stu if you guys come all the way over let me know I live right by there. Way to close the wife says :D

I checked it out yesterday- it was small and nearly impossible to find. Thanks to Roy for the directions earlier on in the post or I would have missed it for sure (and I live just a couple of miles from the place!).

Inside the store, Mark has a nice layout with some good holding tanks set up. The store is in its infancy but has very nice potential. He also told me that he was ordering a large fish/coral order that would be in on Tuesday if all went well.

The store has good potential- but its survival will be based on established Reef Heads heading into the store. Its unlikely he will get much passer-by traffic. Best of luck to Mark- its like watching someone put in a new huge tank!

just checked the store out

it is an excellent store, quite difficult to see

as roy said, it is in the strip mall with chihuahua's mexican restaurant, subway, and the (now closed) Ballwin Animal Hospital

he has a large order arriving at the airport around 4:00, he figures it should all be out by 6 or 7 tonight
