Saltwater testing

What I meant by stupid questions is, questions you think are stupid. When you're dealing with a hobby like this there is no such thing as a stupid question. Just my two cents.

O trust me... I don't care how stupid it is I have a question I'm gunna ask it... Thinking I kno something I shoulda asked about could cost me lots of money...I don't want to not ask and lose everything when I coulda just asked and got my issues resolved

Cube or standard? I've got a 29G standard. I've had it about a month and so far I like it. I think it's a good starter size. I wanted to go bigger but just couldn't afford the investment right now.

It's a standard as well... And yea I'm with u on that I got everything for free filter tank stand two t-5 high output lights live sand and heater only thing I've got in outta pocket is 10 lbs of live rock

What kind of filter do you have? Depending on what it is, you might be better off without it. But you would need to get a powerhead if you don't have one, and more live rock.

I'm just running 25 lbs. of live rock and 20 lbs. of live sand, with two Hydor Koralia power heads to circulate the water(850 and 425). Two peppermint shrimp, five trochus snails, a ton of hitchhiker organisms, and two Ocellaris Clowns. I didn't add the clowns until almost two weeks after I had the snails and shrimp, and everything has been stable. All the residents of my tank are looking great too. I'd probably up my live rock to 30-35 lbs, or get a protein skimmer if I add any more life to the tank. Depends what pieces of rock I can find and how I can add them to my aquascaping. I've been doing 2-3G water changes weekly, and that always brings my nitrates from 5 down to zero. I periodically do very small water changes too, where I scoop water off the very top of the tank to keep surface scum down(maybe a few cups at a time) Topping off daily with distilled water for evaporation. I think things are working out pretty well.

It's just a normal filter to be honest and I have a power head in there as well one with the head that rotates side to side... I have 10 lbs of live sand but probably another 10 to 15 lbs of dead coral inter mingled with it... I haven't done any water changes besides today because of not having any actual bioload in there but wen I do ill try to replicate what ur doing since it seems to be working
