Sand and Mushrooms. Do they mix?

I picked up my first rock full of mushrooms last week at my LFS and have a question.

My wrasse and goby have dropped sand on the mushrooms as they go along with their daily chores.
Question is:
Will the sand actually harm the mushroom or is it more of an eyesore.
Its not a lot of sand but could add up as time goes on.

I can add a picture later today if it would help.

Thank You for any assistance you can provide.

Don't know if it will hurt or not but you can use a turkey baster to to dust it off

That's a great idea.
I now have a reason to pull the baster out of the drawer several times a year.
Wife will love it. LOL

Kidding aside really good idea.
Thanks.

LOL, I have multiple turkey basters that are dedicated to tank duty. I use it every day during feeding and it is very usefull during maintenance.

You can blow them off if it gets bad but don't stress over a few grains, they can knock it off of them self during the normal inflate/deflate cycle.

My mushrooms get full of sand every few days from the pistol shrimp stirring everything up. But over night its always gone, not sure how but they shake it off themselves.
