Sand and pvc ?s

I was just sitting and got to thinking about a possible issue I may have:

I have a 125 that's 6ft long, I will be using 2.5 inch clear pvc in the shape of a backwards P. Should I drill any pin holes in the pvc for better flow through it? How do I need to prepare for the dead space created from the square tank to the curvurture of the pvc?

Sand and pvc are due to arrive end of week.

The clear Pvc will not allow the eels to hide from the light. A few holes wouldn't hurt, I would put them at the sides or closer to bottom. A few tubes long enough for the eel/s to hide in is sufficient and from my experience enjoy having many "dens" instead of one intricate one.

That's been the goal with the pvc in making a lot of dens, I just thought the clear would allow me to observe them more. I planned on having the top lightly covered with sand to hopefully screen some of the light from the top, the front view would only receive room light which isn't much.

I could add a few regular 2 inch pvc under my sand if that would help more. I have sand coming in and these are the final pieces to this phase of setup, so any input is appreciated.

i planned on doing this for my tank but i had in mind that i was going to use regular white pvc with multiple Ts and Xs creating a labrynth of areas. i would put all the fittings together exactly how i wanted to and the take a saw and cut it in the pvc in half making one flat open side and the top curved side. i would place the flat open side to the bottom and cover the entire tunnel system with sand leaving 1-2 openings. this way the caves/tunnels are viewable from beneath the tank. for cleaning purposes i can fit a syphon around the opening and suck and crud out of there in theory that part would be easy

Hotelbravo was it as easy as you thought cleaning? I plan on having an opening about every 3 feet (pvc length), 7 openings total when sides are included plus a custom made piece.

i have not installed it into the aquarium yet. im moving in a month and when i move i will add it in there

I would imagine using a powerhead to blow all the debris threw the pipes should work.

Nope.. You can use clear pvc cleaner to remove the writing on the pipe if you wish .
