how deep should my sand bed be, in a 10 gl. 1 or 2 inch?

You will want it sloped. Have the sand be about 2" thick in the back and slope it down as you come to the front of the display. You may want to think about what type of creatures youll have living in there as some like deeper substrates than others.

It's persoanl preference.

Usually a 1-3 inch sand bed is the most common in nanos. Anything above is going to be like a DSB, and anything below might not cover the bottom.

Thats what i did in my nano, i did approx: 1.5"

It depends on what type of fish/inverts that you are going to keep. Because some need a DSB and some dont need as deep of one.
