sand cleaner

I have a 90 G with SPS and LPS corals. I am looking for a cleaner for detritus on my sand bed. I have several nassarius but all they do is bury themselves in the sand. Have a yellow watchman goby but stays in his own cave with pistol shrimp. Have a starry blenny but can't really do the job.

I am looking for an invert that will:

1. stay on the sand bed
2. Hopefully will not crawl on the rocks and corals.

Any suggestions:

1. How about sand sifting cucumbers? What do you think?
2. Anything else?

I appreciate any informations, suggestions and recommendations.

i vote for a cucumber. i have always had atleast 1 in all my tanks and they do a great job. you may need more then one depending on the foot print of your tank. another thing you can add to that list is a burrowing conch from that fish place. that is the only place i have seen them sold and were i got mine from. they never leave the sand and are constantly cleaning everything on the bottom of your tank.

I use a cucumber in my 24 gal nano. it does a great job, dirty sand in one end, then clean sand out the other. I heard they pose a threat if dies or get totally stressed to your tank.

i have heard this many times and still have never had this problem. i have had a couple die in the past but never noticed any problems. i guess if the tank was a smaller tank without good filtration they could cause some problems... but i even have 1 in my 24g aquapod.

I've heard this a lot too and what it usually refers to are the colorful sea apples which will nuke your tank upon death. The little scavengers though, I haven't heard of them really causing much of a problem other than providing a nitrate source when they decompose.
