sand donations

if ANYONE has any dead sand they would like to donate to a starting reefer that would be great. i dont care whether its black or not. i am getting 50lbs. of black sand and i plan to get either more black sand or regular and just put the regular stuff under it. so LMK if you have any sand just sitting in buckets that you are willing to GIVE away.
Thank You

PM your address and I will stop by and put it on your porch sometime this week, I am not sure if the wife threw it in the street yet but I can check, it's not much but its something.

Remember, when you mix in all your sand over time the largest particles will come to the surface, so make sure you know what you want before putting in just anything.

as far as i know the sand should have the largest particles. the guy selling it to me said it was pretty coarse but i dont know.

One thing about black or dark sand is that it does a really bad job of reflecting light. It makes your tank look dark...I'm not sure what the effect on coral would be but I assume that the reflection from white sand onto coral is a good thing...

Get some "sugar size white sand" or if you really want to go cheap you can get some pool filter sand at that place over on Gravois and Lindbergh right by the Ford dealership. I'll give you a cup of my sand and you should be good to go...
