Sand is Getting Dark! Need Advice!

Can anybody recommend something that can take care of my sand. It used to be a beautiful white texture, and now it's slowly turning a dark purple. I usually stir up the sand a bit to get a little white back in, but I wanted some creatures to do the work for me. The current clean-up crew I have is: 10 Astrea Snails, 10 Cerith Snails, 5 Nassarius snails, 5 Blue leg Hermit Crabs.

If you have coraline algea in your tank, then you might be getting some coraline growth on your substrate. The reason you would be getting it on yuor substrate is it is not getting stirred up enough. I have a sea cucumber in my tank and he does an excellent job of turning the sand.

It is more likely diatoms or cyano. Increase flow to the effected areas.

What are your parameters?

Phos?
Nitrates?
Silicates?
PH?
Alk?

What about phosphates and silicates?

Can you post a pic?

What is the overall flow in the tank(turnover)?

How long has the tank been set up?

So far those stats are good.

Never tested for phosphates and silicates. I can post a pic later on today. There is currently 3 maxi jet 1200's on the top of the tank. One in the middle, and one on each corner. 2 of the jets have a device on them that spins the flow in circles. The tank has been set up since December 15.
